Yamaguchi Factory
Our Yamaguchi Factory has an integrated system of designing, manufacturing, shipment and parts management built in its extensive grounds of about 53,000m2. In 1998, the factory acquired ISO 9001 certification, the international standard for quality management systems.
In 2015, a solar power generation system of 400 kW was installed in order to reduce our impact on environment. In addition to ourYamaguchi Factory, the MIKUNI GROUP also owns 2nd/3rd Yamaguchi Factories. (Casting/Pressure vessel mfg.)

Since our establishment of 1894, we dedicated to develop and manufacture compressors.
As we succeeded to develop first domestic oil free compressor, we have many of experiences of high-quality compressors for industries. Our made in Japan products has high reliability and reputations, not only Japan but also overseas.
Since the establishment, we put our priority to the customer’s view point and seeks what customer wants and what customer needs. And we reflect those consideration to our development, manufacturing and after service.
Although several years passed from the beginning of our second centuries, we still keep challenge to meet customer’s requirement with our long-time accumulated know-how.
With having the good relationship with each customer, we keep to pay our best effort to develop and improve higher technologies and human resources development to meet the requirement of era with long term perspective.

1894 | Founded as Mikuni Iron Works. Started with manufacturing of air compressors, and in 1915 moved to the current head office site. |

1944 | Merged with Fujimura Machinery Co., Ltd. (founded in 1907) and changed the firm name to MIKUNI JUKOGYO CO., LTD. |
1953 | Succeeded in developing Japan’s first oil-free air compressor with graphite carbon piston rings. |
1954 | Mikuni has succeeded to provide the chlorine/hydrochloric acid gas compressor which is first time in Japan. |
1960 | Manufactured oil-free LPG transfer compressors. |
1963 | Start to hydrochronic acid gas compressor to domestic market. |
1965 | Developed a maintenance free piston for inert gas compressors. |
1968 | Qualified as “an approved organization of high-pressure gas equipment test and manufacture” and “a high-pressure gas category 2 certified tester” by the Minister of International Trade and Industry. |
1969 | Established MIKUNI KOHAN CO., LTD. to improve the service department. |
1972 | Developed leak-proof radioactive gas compressors and established an in-house quality assurance system. |
1973 | Established CHUGOKU MIKUNI JUKD CO., LTD. to manufacture large-sized machines. |
1974 | Supplied leak-proof compressors for primary radio-active gas recovery to nuclear power stations. Established MIKUNI ENGINEERING CD., LTD to explore overseas markets, as well as to expand engineering and sales of peripheral accessories of compressors. |
1989 | Increased the capital to 115.5 million yen and issued corporate bonds valued at 200 million yen. |
1994 | Celebrated the 100th anniversary and held a commemorative project. |
1995 | Transferred Hofu Factory and changed its name to Yamaguchi Factory. |
1997 | Head Office Factory and Toyonaka Factory is qualified by ISO 9001. |
1998 | Yamaguchi Factory is qualified by ISO 9001. Entered into a capital tie-up with KwangShin Machine Industry Co., Ltd. in Korea. |
2000 | Established Yamaguchi Factory (casting factory). Entered into a capital tie-up with Takaki Tekkosho Co., Ltd. |
2006 | Integrated production lines and expanded Yamaguchi Factory. Held a commemorative event celebrating the 111th anniversary of the company. Increased the capital to 439 million yen. |
2007 | Began to develop 1,000 kW compressors and renovated the facilities. |
2008 | Completed a prototype of the 1,000 kW compressor and performed a test run. Began to develop 1,500 kW compressors. |
2009 | Completed manufacture of 1,500 kW comressors and commenced sales. Added an assembly and processing building and renovated the facilities at Yamaguchi Factory. |
2011 | Began to develop 2,000 kW compressors. Added an assembly building to and renovated the facilities at Yamaguchi Factory. |
2012 | Completed the development of 2,000 kW compressors. |
2014 | Now we are working on for 120th anniversary. |
2015 | Installed a solar power generation system in Yamaguchi Factory. |
2018 | Merged with Takaki Tekkosho Co., Ltd. |
